Seed Ministry

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

The men have been meeting in various local eateries to fellowship knowing that they will be overheard.

This sweet fellowship not only brings the brothers closer together, but they have had opportunity to pray for others in the Village of Laguna Beach.

Check back soon for recent testimonies or feel free to ask Kurt, Keith, or Mercier.

If you’d like to join them, give one of them a hollar.

On October 18, 2008, our faithful Carole and Lee teamed up to bring a beading outreach to the ladies living at Vista Aliso Retirement Community.

A suprise visitor brought fresh baked cookies to fuel their creativity while they chatted, created jewlry and magnets.  They spent a wonderful afternoon in fellowship.

Downtown Laguna: Farmer’s Market Outreach

Farmer’s Market SignThe summer is over and the Farmer’s Market Outreach is back.  We resumed our community outreach on Saturday, October 4, 2008.  We experienced another great afternoon at the Farmer’s Market.

It’s strange how every time we visit, we have similarly different experiences.  Each time, there are those who are offended by the concept of the church (to the point that they refuse to take a free bottle of water), those who ignore us completely, those who tie up their dogs at the bollards behind us, those who’ve heard of us, and those we can talk with.  We’ve even had occasion to pray.

I forgot to bring my camera this time, which was disappointing but good.  Instead of snapping shots, I was there to fellowship,  pray, observe, pet dogs, and chat with people.

I have two favorite stories.  Perhaps Rick or Eric or Kurt or Mercier would have different stories to tell, but here are mine. (more…)

Caroling at Vista Aliso

Sunday, December 30th, 2007

We have really grown as a church in our outreaching to the community.

On Sunday, December 23, 2007, as our third outreach this year to Vista Aliso Senior Housing facility, we caroled our hearts out.

Of course, we began with prayer.

Street Witnessing

Thursday, December 6th, 2007

Starting December 3, 2007, Rick Kernan lead a team to have a presence in the community Saturday mornings.

Our misson, (should you decide to accept it):

  • As a Church body, we should “be prepared in season and out of season” (II Timothy 4:2) to share the story and saving work (salvation) of Christ with others as we live our lives abiding in Jesus Christ!

Here is a photo from the first outing with Greg, Frank, June, and Rick.

Street Witnessing 12/3/07

We are prayerfully and actively considering having a booth at the farmer’s market.

It’s been a wonderful time sharing with others and fellowshiping together.
